Meta Will Soon Allow Users to Create, Buy and Sell NFTs Directly on Instagram
Starting this week, @Meta will allow select creators to mint and sell digital collectibles (NFTs) directly on Instagram, with a broader rollout expected sometime soon.
According to a post by Instagram’s parent company, Meta, “Creators will soon be able to make their own digital collectibles on Instagram and sell them to fans, both on and off Instagram.”
Creators will have an end-to-end toolkit powered by layer-2 scaling solution @0xPolygon allowing them to mint on the Ethereum Blockchain without paying insane gas fees.
Instagram also announced plans to add video-based digital collectibles to the platform along with support for the @Solana Blockchain and Phantom Wallet.
“This move represents a remarkable milestone in the evolution of Instagram’s existing NFT functionality and a natural next step to bring Web3 to the mainstream,” said Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal (@sandeepnailwal1).
