Gucci Now Accepting Payments in Apecoin at Select Boutiques

Luxury fashion house Gucci announced today that it would start accepting ApeCoin ($APE) at select stores in the U.S. via Bitpay.

In a post on Twitter, Gucci wrote, “Now accepting ApeCoin ( @apecoindao ) payments via BitPay ( @bitpay ) at select Gucci boutiques in the USA, expanding the range of cryptocurrencies available for in-store purchases, yet another step in the House’s exploration of Web3.”

In May, Gucci announced in an interview with Vogue that it would start accepting many top cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, and five stablecoins pegged to the U.S. dollar.

“Gucci is always looking to embrace new technologies when they can provide an enhanced experience for our customers,” said Marco Bizzarri, Gucci’s president and CEO, in a statement. “Now that we are able to integrate cryptocurrencies within our payment system, it is a natural evolution for those customers who would like to have this option available to them.”

We are excited to see other retailers follow suit. Would you spend your Ape Coin on Gucci? Let us know in the comments below 👇🏽
