Tiffany & Co. Set to Launch NFT Collection and Pendant Exclusive to CryptoPunk Holders for 30 ETH Each
Luxury jewelry & fashion powerhouse Tiffany & Co. ( @tiffanyandco ) announced today that they plan to launch a new NFT collection & accompanying custom-designed pendant on the Chain ( @chain ) protocol exclusive to CryptoPunk holders dubbed NFTiff.
According to the website, which features a countdown to launch, “NFTiffs represent a collection of 250 digital passes, offered by Tiffany & Co. which may be minted when purchased and redeemed by CryptoPunks holders for the creation of a custom designed pendant and a NFT digital artwork that resembles the final jewelry design. The pendant will be designed and crafted by Tiffany & Co. artisans, and inspired by the Cryptopunk owner’s Punk NFT. Only 250 NFTiff passes will be available for purchase. Each customer may purchase a max of 3 NFTiffs.”
It looks like Punk holders will finally have a chance to turn their punk into an official pendant by Tiffany & Co., only if they are quick enough to grab a pass on August 5th, for a small sum of 30 ETH, or about $50,000 at the time of writing this article.
Tiffany & Co. designers will interpret each CryptoPunk into custom-designed pendants – converting the 87 attributes and 159 colors that appear across the collection of 10,000 CryptoPunk NFTs to the most similar gemstone or enamel color.
Depending on which CryptoPunk owners purchase pendants, each piece will use at least 30 gemstones and/or diamonds to create the custom designs with the highest fidelity to the original NFT art.
Back in April, Tiffany’s Vice President, and son to the head of the luxury brand LVMH, Alexandre Arnault ( @alexandrearnault ), first grabbed the attention of the Web3/NFT space when he posted a picture of his punk sample with the caption “When punks go wild at Tiffany’s.”
As the owner of Cyptopunk #3167, Arnault used his punk and widely recognizable PFP and turned it into a luxury jewelry piece, which features rose gold and enamel along with sapphire and Mozambique baguette ruby glasses, as well as a yellow diamond round earring.
