Chipotle is Giving Away $200k in Crypto With New Game “Buy the Dip”

On Monday, Chipotle (@chipotle) announced a new online game that will give customers the chance to win more than $200,000 in crypto. A Chipotle spokesperson said that “through July 31st, fans would be able to play its “Buy The Dip” game using their rewards accounts.”

The prize pool features $200,000 of rewards in Ethereum, Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Avalanche, and Solana. The prizes will be divided among 516 players in various amounts. For instance, five users per game day will have a chance to win $1,000 in Ethereum. Additionally, 700,000 individuals will receive free food items and dip vouchers for digital orders. The rewards will be deposited into the verified winners’ Coinbase accounts, which are required to claim the prize.

Chipotle said it would give prizes based on the exchange rate on the day of the award rather than at the end of the campaign.

“We want to build the next generation of Chipotle fandom by connecting with the Web3 community,” Chris Brandt, Chipotle’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “We’re excited to bring positivity to the crypto conversation.”

The news comes a year after Chipotle gave away $100,000 in Bitcoin as part of a promotion for National Burrito Day. In June, Chipotle announced that its roughly 3,000 restaurants in the United States would accept upwards of 98 cryptocurrencies as payment through digital payment provider Flexa.
