Uniswap Announces NFT Trading is Now Live Along With USDC Airdrop for Past Genie Users
Uniswap, the world’s largest truly decentralized exchange, announced on Wednesday that its NFT aggregator, which surfaces listings from all major NFT marketplaces, including Opensea, X2Y2, Sudoswap, LooksRare, and more, is now live with a $5M USDC airdrop for historical Genie users.
Uniswap launched in 2018, and was one of the first DeFi protocols on the Ethereum blockchain. In June, Uniswap announced that it had acquired Genie, the NFT aggregating platform that lets you quickly buy, sell, and sweep across marketplaces, all in a single transaction.
Uniswap’s competitor advantage is that its new Universal Router smart contract can save you up to 15% on gas costs compared to other NFT aggregators. They also plan to offer gas rebates to the first 22,000 NFT buyers.
“NFTs and ERC-20 tokens have largely existed as two separate ecosystems within crypto, but both are essential to growing the digital economy,” the company said in a statement. “Launching NFTs on Uniswap is our first step in building more interoperable experiences between the two.”
Uniswap has also open-sourced its front-end code, making them the first major NFT platform to do so. Will you be using Uniswap as your preferred NFT aggregator? Let us know in the comments below. 👇🏽
